Hyland Helper Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Hyland Helper mobile app created by MadJag Studios. Hyland Helper is an ad-supported companion app with optional in-app purchases.
Information We Collect
Hyland Helper may collect or process the following information:
- App usage information, such as screens viewed, app launches, ad views, and interactions.
- Device information, such as device identifiers, operating system, app version, and IP address.
- Advertising information, such as ads shown to you and ad interaction information.
- Gameplay context and messages you submit to the Advisor, such as your question, cash, rank, properties, product focus, employees, and conversation history needed to answer you.
- A random, app-specific device identifier (a UUID generated on your device). It is sent to our backend and used for app functionality such as enforcing free question limits and usage quotas, rate-limiting and abuse prevention, remembering your Advisor preferences, registering push notifications, and attributing community submissions. It is not your name, email, phone number, or any login, and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Advisor memory you choose to save, such as goals and facts you ask the Advisor to remember, stored on our backend and associated with your random device identifier so the Advisor can recall them in later conversations.
- An advertising identifier, used by Google AdMob to serve ads to non-premium users (see "Advertising and App Tracking Transparency" below).
- If you enable notifications, a push notification token (an Expo push token, delivered on Android via Firebase Cloud Messaging), along with your platform, app version, and random app-specific device identifier, used to send game update alerts and optional coach reminders.
- Purchase status information from the Apple App Store or Google Play when you buy a premium upgrade. A purchase entitlement token is sent to our backend to verify that your premium features should be unlocked. MadJag Studios does not receive or store your payment card details.
- Community content you choose to share — the mixes and layouts you submit, their titles and optional descriptions, an optional display nickname, and the upvotes or reports you make — along with the random app-specific device ID used to attribute your submissions, enforce daily submission limits, and prevent abuse.
Hyland Helper stores profiles, recipes, property planner layouts, preferences, and recent conversation history locally on your device so the app can function. Local-only information is not sent to MadJag Studios unless it is part of a request you make to an online feature, such as the Advisor.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide Advisor responses and app functionality.
- Track free question limits and premium access.
- Send optional game update notifications when you turn them on.
- Show and measure ads, including non-personalized ads where applicable.
- Improve reliability, diagnose problems, and protect against abuse.
- Operate the optional Community feature, including showing, moderating, and ranking shared content.
Advertising and App Tracking Transparency
Hyland Helper uses Google AdMob to show ads to non-premium users. Your advertising identifier is collected and shared with Google AdMob for this purpose. AdMob may collect device identifiers, advertising data, product interaction data, IP address, diagnostics, and related information, and may infer your approximate (for example, city-level) location from your IP address, for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and performance purposes.
On iOS, Hyland Helper requests permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using data for tracking. If you deny tracking permission or if tracking permission is unavailable, the app requests non-personalized ads where supported.
AI Advisor Processing
When you use the Advisor, your message, selected gameplay context (such as your in-game rank, cash, properties, and product focus), and recent conversation history are sent to MadJag Studios' backend and on to Anthropic, PBC (the Claude API) to generate an AI response. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Any goals or facts you ask the Advisor to remember are stored on our backend (hosted via Supabase) and linked to your random device identifier. Do not include sensitive personal information in Advisor messages.
Community Feature
Hyland Helper includes an optional Community feature where you can share mixes and layouts you create, set a display nickname, and upvote or report content from other users. Content you submit — including any title, description, and nickname — is sent to MadJag Studios' backend (hosted via Supabase) so it can be shown to other users. Submissions are associated with a random app-specific device ID, not your name, email, or any account, and this identifier is not used to track you across other apps or services.
Text you submit is screened by an automated moderation check before it is published. You can report content you find objectionable and block another user so you no longer see their content. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior; content that violates our community guidelines may be removed and access may be revoked. Please do not submit personal information through the Community feature.
Push Notifications
Push notifications are optional. If you turn them on in Settings, Hyland Helper asks for notification permission and registers a push token so game update alerts and optional coach reminders can be sent to your device. Push tokens are delivered through Expo and, on Android, through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn notifications off in Settings or disable them in your device settings.
In-App Purchases
Premium upgrades are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which process your payment. MadJag Studios does not receive or store your payment card details. When you purchase or restore premium, a purchase entitlement token is sent to our backend so we can verify that your premium features should be unlocked.

Hyland Helper uses third-party services that may process information under their own policies:

Security
Information exchanged between the app, our backend, and our service providers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain.
Data Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset app data, or uninstall the app. Server-side records — such as your random device identifier, free question and usage counts, Advisor memory, push notification registrations, and community submissions — are retained as needed to provide those features. If you disable notifications, Hyland Helper asks the backend to remove your push notification record. You can request deletion of your server-side data at any time; see "Data Deletion Requests" below.
Data Deletion Requests
You can request deletion of the data Hyland Helper has stored about you on our backend. The app has no account, login, name, or email — your server-side data is keyed only to the random, app-specific device identifier generated on your device.
To request deletion, email hylandhelper@madjagstudios.com. So we can locate and remove the right records, please send your request from a device that has the app installed and include any community display nickname you have used. We may ask for additional details needed to identify the device identifier associated with your data.
Upon a verified request we will delete the records associated with that device identifier — including your Advisor memory and conversation records, free-question and usage counts, push notification registration, and any community submissions, display nickname, votes, and reports — from our backend within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations or to prevent fraud and abuse.
Data stored only on your device is removed when you reset app data or uninstall the app. Information held by the third-party services listed above is governed by their own privacy policies.
Children
Hyland Helper is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Your Choices
- You can deny or revoke tracking permission in iOS Settings.
- You can disable game update alerts in the app or in device notification settings.
- You can stop app data collection by uninstalling the app.
- You can report or block other users' content from within the Community feature.
- You can request deletion of your server-side data, including Advisor memory and community content you submitted — see "Data Deletion Requests" above.
